This 2-day class will demonstrate the building of small boxes using techniques that can be applied to various box designs as well as larger scale projects. We will demonstrate hinging of box lids, splined construction, mitre folding of parts, interior tray designs, and router and table saw dovetailing. We will use both solid wood and veneer construction. Everyone will have the choice of woods to use, both domestic and exotic species. Jewlery boxes, humidors, and keepsake boxes will be the focus. Everyone will leave with one or two finished boxes depending on time
Tools Requirements:
- Tape measure
- 6″ rule
- Cordless drill (optional but helpful)
- Set of 4 cabinet chisels (see tool list)
